Master Scheduling and Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
This one-day course emphasizes the requirements for developing a Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirements (MRP). It covers how to run, analyze and maintain both the MPS and MRP modules. This course consists of lecture, discussion and hands-on student workshops.
At the completion of this course the participants will be able to:
- Set up the data needed as prerequisites to running MPS
- Understand the use of both a planning bill-of-materials and a manufacturing bill-of-materials
- Master Production Scheduling
- Generate a Master Production Schedule
- Analyze the Master Production Schedule calculations
- Evaluate the Master Production Schedule through reports and screen inquires
- Maintain the Master Production Schedule
- Materials Reguirements
- Generate an MRP Part Plan Table
- Know housekeeping procedures for purging data
- Understand how MRP calculates Component Requirements
- Generate the Material Requirements Plan
- Analyze and evaluate data generated from reports: e.g. Pegging information, Action Messages
- Discuss the calculations performed by MRP
- Use the proper functions for maintenance of Material Requirements Planning
- Know housekeeping procedures for purging data
