| The International Expandable Users Group Association (IEUGA) staged its annual Expandable Users Conference May 16-18, 2010 at the Hyatt at Olive 8 Hotel in Seattle. The conference, titled Expandability 2010, brought together Expandable personnel, customers and business partners for three days of roundtable discussions, learning sessions, networking events and presentations. |
| The theme of Expandability 2010 was "Focusing on Quality," drawing attention to the fact that Expandable is releasing two major new enhancements to the product that help users promote, measure and deliver quality at Expandable customer sites. |
| “Because quality management is so important to our users group, and because Expandable is delivering major quality management enhancements with the upcoming release of its ERP system, we embraced the quality theme and designing this year’s users conference as an affirmation of careful quality management practices,” said Jan Young, president of the IEUGA." |
| In addition to sessions focusing on managing quality manufacturing operations, the conference included information that promoted techniques practiced by the most experienced Expandable users. |
| “A big benefit of the conference is immediate access to other users who may be facing or have already overcome similar business challenges.” stated Jan Young. "A major portion of the conference is dedicated to creating opportunities for users to share information. Whether it's participating in the user presentations or networking at events, the conference provides opportunities to interact with other users - and also with Expandable personnel - to learn new tools and techniques and to share ideas.” |
| Conference activities kicked off on Sunday May 16th with a "meet and greet" welcome reception hosted by Expandable Software, Inc. Conference breakout sessions filled the next two days, covering a range of topics that included presentations by Expandable customers, Expandable support personnel and Expandable business partners. |
| Three roundtable discussions were scheduled during the conference, one specific to companies operating under FDA guidelines, another for finance people that focused on month end closing, and a third that involved quality management using Expandable. |
| After a full day of conference sessions, a mid-conference dinner party brought conference attendees together for an entertaining evening where participants enjoyed interacting in a relaxed, fun environment. |
| Expandable president Bob Swedroe began day two of the conference by delivering an address to the user base outlining Expandable’s rollout strategy for subsequent product releases, integration tools and enhancements. |
| "Although overall conference attendance was down from the numbers we've seen during our best years, we were able to see some growth over last year, so considering the economic environment and continued employee travel restrictions, we view the conference as a definite success," concluded IEUGA president Jan Young. |
| The annual Expandable User Conference is sponsored by the International Expandable Users Group Association (IEUGA), an independent, non-profit organization who's mission is to promote the exchange of information between users of Expandable Software, Inc.'s ERP system for growing manufacturers. The IEUGA is run by Expandable customers who volunteer their time to sit on the board of directors. |
